THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A man committed suicide after hacking his wife to death. The incident happened at Thozhuvancode in Vattiyoorkavu. Retd ASI Ponnan committed suicide after hacking his wife to death. Leela, retired head constable succumbed to injuries after hacked by her husband. The shocking incident happened Friday morning. Though the seriously injured Leela was taken to the hospital, her life could not be saved.

Residents’ association secretary said that Leela had told her that she received threat from her husband. Secretary Vasantha Kumari said there was some property dispute between the two.

Ponnan’s relative said there were some arguments between the two. Ponnan was found hanging in a jackfruit tree nearby.
