THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been reported that the rapid antibody test conducted in the state found an increase in the number of persons infected with the coronavirus. Tests of over 25 persons returned with positive results. The report also adds that the disease can only be confirmed through a PCR test. Including health workers and sanitation workers, 101 persons developed the disease through contact over the past 11 days.

Expats started returning to the state from May 7. Between May 7 and June 11, 188 persons developed the disease through contact which includes 39 health workers. In the review meeting on Thursday, the CM said health workers getting infected is alarming in the state and directed for tests. The health department has been directed to investigate cases in Kollam, Kottayam and Kozhikode where the source of infection couldn't be traced.
