KAZHAKOOTTAM: In a tragic accident, a health worker returning from COVID duty was killed after she was run over by a motorbike in Thiruvananthapuram. The deceased has been identified as Shobhana (51), a last grade employee of the Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital.

The accident took place near the Akkulam bridge on Friday evening when a speeding bike ran over Shobhana while she was crossing the road. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries by Saturday morning. Her body was later cremated at the Thycaud Saanthi Kavadam. She is survived by husband Bhuvanachandran, children Naiju and Naju.
