THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of Vande Bharat Mission, there is a high demand for air services from more countries to Kerala. The centre is of the stand that flights can be granted if Kerala demands. There are not enough flights to the state from any country including USA, which reported the highest number of COVID cases.

Indians from forty-three countries are being repatriated in the third phase of the mission. But there are only 76 services in Kerala from twenty countries. There are services to other states of the country including USA. However the Keralites are not that much interested to depend on these services.

If depending on services of other states they will have to follow its quarantine terms. A person reaching Kerala after the quarantine, will have to be in home quarantine again. That is why Keralites are less interested in service of other states.

No necessary action was taken despite all these issues addressed to the state government. They want a favourable decision from the state government at the earliest.
