RIYADH: The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia have directed expatriates going to Kerala in chartered flights to produce COVID certificate. COVID-19 negative certificate should be produced from June 20 onwards. This is the special directive of the state government, the embassy clarified.
Only those with negative results will be permitted to travel. The certificate is not needed for those travelling via Vande Bharat Mission. Kerala had the other day issued an order stating that only those with COVID 19 negative certificate will be permitted to travel in the chartered flight.
The expats and the opposition parties had voiced strong protests against this. A final decision will be taken in the video conference of the Prime Minister with the chief ministers.
