VAFAKARA: RMPI State secretary N Venu has come out against chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan for putting up a Facebook post, hailing late leader P K Kunhanandan, who is a convict in TP Chandrasekharan murder case.

Venu has sent a legal notice to the chief minister in this regard.

The chief minister in his post has said that Kunhanandan is a leader who had won the respect of all sections of people. In the legal notice, Venu has said that the chief minister’s FB post was proof of the fact that he protects murder case convict.

The chief minister’s statement extolling an accused is breach of legal system and tantamount to insulting the court. This action of Pinarayi Vijayan as a chief minister is breach of Constitution,” Venu pointed out.

The legal notice sent via P Kumarankutty also urges the chief minister to withdraw the post. “If the chief minister is not ready to correct the statement, we will go ahead with legal steps against him,” he added.
