THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that only 50 percent of government staff need to come to offices and the rest should work from home. The office chief can regulate this. Government offices shouldn't stop functioning, the CM said.

Such regulations are brought so that the offices can function. The work from home should be on a rotational basis as the staff who come to the office in a week should work from home in the following week. Even if someone catches the disease, only a section of the workforce needs to be quarantined.

Office meetings should be conducted online, the CM said. Chief Secretary will consult the proceedings of office functioning. For COVID duty, it is better to assign staff from the respective districts. Employees with COVID duty shouldn't stay with their family, the CM added.
