THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Seven more regions have been identified as hotspots in Kerala. Thrikkovilvattom, Mayyanad, Ittiva, Kalluvathukkal and Kollam corporation in Kollam district, Vazhappally in Kottayam district and Mallappuzhassery in Pathanamthitta district are the new hotspots.


Meanwhile, nine regions were removed from the list of hotspots on Sunday. They are Avanoor, Cherpu, Thrikkoor, Irinjalakuda municipality, Vadanappally, Alagappanagar, Vellangallur and Tholur in Thrissur district and Adichanalloor in Kollam district. At present, there are 109 hotspots in the state.

Meanwhile, 133 persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the state on Sunday. This is the highest single-day spike in the number of Covid cases reported by the state.
