THRISSUR: Agriculture Minister V S Sunil Kumar has entered into self-quarantine following a meeting attended by a health worker tested positive for COVID-19. A COVID review meet was convened by the minister at the Thrissur Corporation on June 15. Thirteen people attended the meet on that day.
The health worker who attended the meet was confirmed of the virus on Sunday. Following that, the minister and his PA entered into self-quarantine. They are in quarantine at the minister’s official residence in the capital city. The situation now is that everyone who attended the meet should go into quarantine.
A total of 133 people tested positive of the virus on Sunday. This is the highest tally registered in the state so far. Nine contracted the disease through contact-- three each in Idukki and Thrissur, two in Palakkad and one in Ernakulam.
