THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Met department has forecast chances for heavy rains in Kerala on Thursday and Friday. In all districts except Palakkad and Wayanad, yellow alert has been declared on Thursday. Orange alert has also been declared in Idukki on Friday.

Meanwhile, some areas in Kannur were inundated following showers that started Sunday evening. At Thalassery bus stand, there was water at knee-level.

Water entered many shops, which was remaining shut on Sunday. On Iritti-Thalipparambu State highway, tree fell down due to which traffic was interrupted.

However, there was less traffic block in flooded areas as there was less number of vehicles on road.
