PALA: One and a half year old Theresa got a second life after falling into a stream, thanks to the timely intervention of two children. Doctors said the baby, who is admitted at Pala Marian Medical Centre, has survived the dangerous phase.

Theresa, daughter of Jomy of Kuruppanthara Mattathil, was at her mother's house in Mallikkasseri. She happened to get near a stream near the house and slipped into the river which nobody saw. The baby was carried by the stream for 200 metres where it meets Ponnozhukum river when she was spotted by two children taking a dip in the river-Seena of Karimattam and Princy of Koottungal. They screamed loudly and the people at the shore took the baby to safety. On hearing this, Mani C Kappan MLA took the baby to the hospital in his car. After this, the baby's parents-Jomy and Bindu-reached the hospital.
