THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI has placed restrictions on strikes and protests in the State in the wake of Covid spread.

“Protests should not be held without the consent of party district unit. Leaders should keep away from strikes as far as possible. Social distancing should be followed,” CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran has written to district units of the party.

There are also move in the LDF to restrict public protests. The LDF leadership has sought the chief minister’s permission for this.

AIYF had held strikes in connection with Covid transmission and petrol price hike. The new decision is to organise protests only under very necessary situations.
