KOLLAM: One more person died of COVID-19 in the state. He has been identified as Vasantha Kumar (68), a native of Mayyanad in Kollam. He died while undergoing treatment at Paripally Medical College. With this, total deaths rose to 22 in Kerala.

Vasantha Kumar reached Kerala on June 10 in Nizamudin Express from New Delhi. He developed fever while in quarantine and later underwent COVID tests. He was confirmed of the virus on June 17.

He was admitted at Paripally Medical College after confirmed of the virus. When his condition worsened, lifesaving drug of Rs 62,000 was brought from Kochi three days back. He suffered a cardiac arrest last night and died Tuesday morning at 9.55 am. This is the second COVID death in Kollam.
