KOCHI: Four persons have been arrested for trying to extort money from actress Shamna Kasim after threatening her. The accused were nabbed by the Maradu police on the complaint of the actress’ mother.

Those detained have been identified as Sharath, Ashraf of Kaipamangalam, Rafeeq of Vadanappally and Ramesh of Kadavannoor. The police are questioning them.

The complaint alleged that they demanded one lakh cash and if not given threatened to damage her career. The complaint also said they came near Shamna's residence and tried to take pictures also. The arrested have been remanded.
