PALAKKAD: A woman stabbed her seven-year-old son to death at Bheemanadu in Mannarkkad. The dead has been identified as Muhammed Irfan. The incident happened Thursday morning at 5 am. Reports said the woman has some mental health issues.

On hearing Irfan’s nine-month-old sister crying, the neighbours entered the house and saw Irfan lying dead. He sustained injuries on his neck. Only the mother and two children were at home. The woman’s husband is at his work place in Aluva.

The police have reached the spot. After preliminary proceedings, the body will be shifted to the hospital for post mortem.
