THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state has confirmed 150 new coronavirus positive cases on Friday, health minister KK Shailaja said.

Of the new cases, 23 are in Palakkad, 21 in Alappuzha, 18 in Kottayam, 16 each in Malappuram and Kollam, 13 in Kannur, 9 in Ernakulam, 7 each in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Kozhikode, 5 in Wayanad, 4 in Pathanamthitta and 2 each in Idukki and Kasargod districts.

Among the new cases, 91 persons had returned from abroad and 48 persons had returned from other states. 10 persons, including a health worker, developed the disease through contact.

Meanwhile, 65 coronavirus patients tested negative for the disease on Friday. As of today, there are 1846 active cases under treatment for the viral disease at various hospitals in Kerala. 2006 persons recovered from the disease.
