KOZHIKODE: For expats reaching Karipur international airport, it takes hours to get their test done. The other day they got stuck at the airport for about 12 hours.
Arrival of large number of expats and dearth of staff to handle the crowd is the reason for the crisis. The people who got stuck at the airport included women, kids and patients. Even getting drinking water was difficult for them. They could come out only after completing the test.
When some expats asked about the delay, the reply they got was –“there is no sufficient staff to conduct the test”. If the result is negative, they will be allowed to go home and if the result is positive, they will be shifted to the government Covid hospitals.
