ELAMANNOOR: The Adoor police on Sunday arrested a woman and her lover for abandoning a three-day-old child in front of the St George Catholic Church, Maruthimoodu. The arrested have been identified as Lija and her lover Ajay.

It was some of the pilgrims who found the child in front of the church on June 30. Following this, an investigation was initiated by the police based on the CCTV footage obtained from nearby places. It was later discovered that Ajay's autorickshaw had moved towards the church on June 29 midnight. Upon questioning Ajay and Liji admitted to the crime.
