THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Swapna Suresh has been terminated from Space Park, the firm coming under the IT department.

The IT Department said that she was a temporary appointee. Meantime, the crime branch has taken a decision to register a case against Swapna for lodging a fake complaint against an Air India official. The incident was when Swapna was an employee of Air India SATS.

The investigating team has found that Swapna and her team used to smuggle gold in large quantities. She may have chosen this way for smuggling gold following her experience in working with the consulate. She also knew that checking on things coming through diplomatic baggage is minimal.

When the customs seize small quantities of gold from people hid in their bodies and other places, Swapna and her team used to smuggle gold in large quantities. She used to get 25 lakh for each transaction. A further probe will be conducted on why she worked in the IT department when she used to get so much money. For whom so much gold was smuggled will also be probed.
