KASARGOD: One more COVID-19 death has been reported in Kerala. The dead has been identified as Abdul Rehman. He returned to the state from Hubli in Karnataka. His Truenat result was earlier positive. His swab samples were sent for testing to know whether he had contracted the disease.

Abdul Rehman died two days back. He did not have any contacts from here and the health department said that he may have contracted the disease from Karnataka. Rehman, a trader reached Thalappady in an ambulance and from there hired a taxi to the district hospital. He came to the hospital after having high fever. His swab samples were sent for testing after his death. His close relatives have been asked to go into quarantine.

Four employees of the Kasargod district hospital who examined him have gone into quarantine. The casualty of the hospital has been disinfected. The truenat test conducted in the hospital was positive. His samples were sent to the lab in Periya for further examination and it confirmed the disease.
