THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM Thiruvananthapuram district Committee has rejected the claim of gold smuggling case accused Sandeep Nair’s mother that he is a CPM member.

CPM Thiruvananthapuram district secretary Anavoor Nagappan has opined that it was a false propaganda and he is a staff of BJP Thiruvananthapuram constituency president and Councillor K P Ramesh.

“When we ask Sandeep’s mother, she says he is in a party but when we ask which party is that she says, CPM. However, on his Facebook page, Sandeep expresses his loyalty to the BJP,” said Nagappan.

“When Kummanam Rajasekharan contested the Lok Sabha election, Sandeep was there campaigning for him. This is what can be learnt from his Facebook page.

Sandeep was a worker in a saw mill and later he worked as driver under several persons. Once he was also the driver of a BJP councilor,” he added.

Meanwhile, Minister E P Jayarajan has said in Kannur that the CPM doesn’t have any role in gold smuggling case. ”The government also has no role in the case. Sandeep Nair is not a CPM member and he is a BJP worker,” he said.
