THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There will be an investigation without loopholes in the gold smuggling case, union minister V Muraleedharan said. All perpetrators will be brought to justice. Several agencies are probing the case. The chief minister's stand on the case is mysterious and is trying to escape blame, he alleged.

Muraleedharan asked how a woman who was appointed as a contract staff became an organizer of government events. The accused IT secretary only entered leave, which is not a disciplinary action, he said.

"What is the basis of statements denying the involvement of the chief minister's IT secretary in the gold smuggling case? What is the CM's stand in this matter?", Muraleedharan asked.

V Muraleedharan had a meeting with union FM Nirmala Sitharaman. It is learnt that the PM's office is closely watching the gold smuggling case. It is reported that the centre will assign investigation to a central agency after evaluating the customs investigation.

UAE has also announced a probe. The customs has requested the interrogation of two UAE citizens.
