THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Those violating quarantine norms will be charged with Rs 1000 fine. Gatherings including protests will now be penalized with a fine of Rs 1000. A notification of the revised Infectious Diseases Act with fine rates was published along with an order. Rs 200 is fine for spitting in public places. If repeated the person will face legal action.

For violating rules in a wedding function, the fine will be Rs 1500 and in funerals, this will be Rs 700. A person will have to pay Rs 200 as fine for not wearing masks in public, and for not maintaining social distance.

Other fines:

Lockdown violation: Rs 200
For using public/ private vehicles on road by violating restrictions: Rs 2000

Organizing public functions, religious/weddings events, funerals by violating norms: Rs 500

Opening malls, schools, offices and other places with a possibility of gathering by violating restrictions: Rs 500

For violating restrictions of migrant workers: Rs 500

Violating rules in a wedding event: Rs 1000

Violating rules in a funeral: Rs 200

Failure to register in COVID-19 Jagratha portal: 1000

Use of interstate stage carriage vehicle: Rs 5000
