KOCHI: The Customs will question M Sivasankar, former principal secretary of the chief minister and IT Secretary, in the backdrop of the gold smuggling case. Reports said that he will be summoned to Kochi for interrogation. However, it is not clear when he will be questioned. He is being questioned in the gold smuggling case following his suspected links with the accused.

The customs had earlier found that the conspiracy of the gold smuggling was held at the flat near the Secretariat. Sivasankar is being summoned to Kochi following the solid evidences obtained. CCTV footages of the accused visiting his flat were also obtained. Sarith on interrogation told customs that Sivasankar has no role in the conspiracy. However Sarith has confirmed that the conspiracy was hatched at Sivasankar’s flat. Sarith told customs that Swapna introduced him to Sivasankar.

In the meanwhile, it is heard that a probe on Swapna Suresh’s fake graduate certificate will be handed over either to the crime branch or to a special team. Her house will be searched and details would be sought from university officials. She got the contract job under the IT department after producing fake certificates. The Cantonment Police who filed a case on the complaint of managing director have also arraigned consultancies Price Water Coopers and Vision Technologies along with Swapna.
