THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State police chief Lokanath Behera approached the Press Council of India with a complaint against the media for carrying fake news against the police in gold smuggling case. The complaint is that some media are allegedly giving fake news against the police. IG Sreejith in his complaint to the DGP sought action against those giving fake news. The DGP lodged the complaint with this letter and the fake news.

Meantime, a non-bailable warrant has been issued against Faizal Fareed, who is in Dubai, in gold smuggling case. The help of Interpol will be sought to nab him.

The case against Swapna Suresh in getting fake graduate certificates will be handed over to a special investigating team. The Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police registered a case against Swapna Suresh yesterday. The case was taken against Swapna, Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Vision Technology on the complaint of Dr Jayasankar Prasad.
