THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has made one more appointment in advisory panel of the chief minister on Wednesday. Former health secretary Rajeev Sadanandan was appointed as one of the advisors of the chief minister. The order in this regard was issued on Wednesday against the backdrop of Covid.
When Nipah fever spread fear in the State a few years ago, it was Rajeev Sadanandan who did a commendable job and his works benefited the State a lot. This factor was taken into account while appointing him.
Rajeev’s responsibility will be to advise the chief minster on Covid related activities. Rajeev Sadananan has been appointed on no-pay basis at a time when the Opposition continues to criticise the chief minister for appointing advisers on high salary.
Though he won’t be paid salary, he will get an official vehicle from the Tourism department.
Incidentally, Rajeev Sadanandan had been roped in by the government in the team appointed to examine the Sprinklr issue as well as the gold smuggling case.
