THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Recent reports claim that former IT Secretary M Sivasankar, who was questioned by the Customs department in connection with the gold smuggling case, might be soon suspended. It is learnt that the Chief Minister has instructed the Chief Secretary to hand over the investigation report soon.
The enquiry committee headed by the Chief Secretary has observed serious lapses from Sivasankar's part, sources said. The report will be handed over to the CM later on Thursday. It must be noted that the government has been receiving flak for not taking any action against Sivasankar. Sources also said that several CPI leaders have expressed dissatisfaction over the government's stand on the issue.
