THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed the highest single-day spike of 722 positive cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, CM Pinarayi Vijayan told the media. With this, the total confirmed cases in the state crossed rose to 10, 275. Of the new cases, 157 persons came from abroad and 62 returned from other states. 481 persons developed the disease through contact. Sources of 34 cases couldn't be traced. Also, 12 health workers contracted the disease on Thursday.
228 patients tested negative for the virus on Thursday. The state also reported two COVID deaths today-Thrissur native Aneesh (39) and Kannur native Mohammad Salim (29).
Of the new cases, 339 are in Thiruvananthapuram alone.
