THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been lodged on the missing of the gunman of UAE Consulate’s attache. He has been identified as Jai Khosh, a native of Karimanal and a cop of AR Camp. In the complaint lodged to Thumba police, the relatives have mentioned that he has been missing since yesterday.
He was missing from his wife’s house. His phone is found to be switched off. The pistol allotted to him was handed over to the Vattiyoorkavu police. It has been found that on the day the gold was seized from the Thiruvananthapuram Airport, Swapna Suresh, accused in the case had called Jai Khosh. Relatives suspect that he may have been taken into custody by the NIA.
Meantime, Rashed Khamis Ali Musaiqri Alshemeli, the attache of UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram, had left the country. Rashed, who was in charge of the consulate in Thiruvananthapuram, left for Delhi from the state capital on Sunday and left for Dubai from Delhi. He left for UAE without the consent of the government amid suspicion that the accused in the gold smuggling case had obtained help from him.
The investigating agencies had planned to question the attache. He left the country when they decided to seek the permission of the centre for it. The parcel containing the gold came in his name. The investigating team had found that the attache and the accused had continuously contacted via phone.
