THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Renowned Malayalam novelist Sudhakar Mangalodayam (72) passed away in Kottayam on Friday. A writer who followed the writing style of Muttathu Varkey, Sudhakar is known for his novels published in various magazines. He has also written stories for 4 movies and various television serials.

Some of his novels which were published in magazines were later published in the form of books. He had penned the story of popular films like P Padmarajan's 'Kariyilakkatupole', 'Nandini Oppol' and 'Vasanthasena'. Some of his popular literary works include 'Padaswaram', 'Ottakolussu', 'Chitta', 'Eeran Nilavu', 'Charulatha' and 'Velutha Chemparathy'.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled the demise of Sudhakar Mangalodayam.
