THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister K K Shailaja came forward replying to the allegation against her in the Palathayi child abuse case. She said that she doesn’t think that anybody who know her personally will believe the baseless allegation that she supported the accused, a RSS activist and a teacher of a school at Panur in Kannur. He is an insult to the whole society. He should be given the punishment he deserves, the minister said in her Facebook post.

Some are making politically motivated and offensive remarks. People need to know the facts about this. As an MLA, I intervened in the issue when I came to know that a girl from my constituency was sexually abused. The government will do everything possible in the issue. As a minister for Department of Women and Child Development, all steps needed for the protection of the girl will be taken, she said in the post.
