BALUSSERY: A 17-year-old boy met with a tragic death after he tried to stop a fight between his father and mother. Alan Venu, son of Venu and Mini, died after a wooden plank of a door hit his head.

The incident was around midnight on Saturday. Venu (56) was taken into custody after locals informed the police. He is currently kept at the Thamarassery COVID center. A murder case has been charged against Venu section 302.

Alan was a plus-two student at Balussery Govt Higher Secondary School. Siblings: Anu, Aleena.

According to the police, Venu, who was drunk, had a dispute with his wife on reaching home. Alan, who was sleeping inside his room, woke up on hearing the noise. While trying to stop the fight, he was shoved by his father. He fell down headfirst on to a wooden plank. Alan was taken to a private hospital in Balussery but had died by then.

The mortal remains were handed over to relatives after postmortem. The funeral was held in the premises of the house
