covid

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On account of the increase in the number of Covid patients in Kerala, the treatment has started in three hospitals in three districts on the basis of an understanding with the government.

They are Thiruvananthapuram KIMS, Daya in Thrissur and Aster MIMS in Kannur. More hospitals in other districts will start functioning in coming weeks. The collector has given permission to those hospitals which can keep apart 20 beds for Covid patients and keep them isolated from other patients there.

Two types of treatment charge

According to an agreement with the government, there will be two treatment charges in private hospitals. Those patients getting admitted directly will have to pay the charge as decided by the hospital management while those referred by government hospitals will have to pay the charge decided by the government.

The government will sanction the money once the bills from private hospitals are produced.
