THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two students who wrote Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) in Thiruvananthapuram tested positive for COVID-19. A native of Pozhiyoor who wrote at the examination centre in Thycaud and the other a native of Karakulam who wrote exam in Karamana were confirmed of the deadly disease.
It is learned that the native of Karakulam who had symptoms of the disease wrote the exam in a separate room. The exam commissioner handed over the list of the students who wrote the exam along with the Pozhiyoor native to the health department.
The number of infected patients in the capital city are increasing day by day. Of the 5401 infected patients in the last one week, 3497 contracted the disease through contact. The source of 260 is unknown. Apart from Poonthura and Pulluvila, it points to the possibility of community transmission in some other parts of the state. In addition to Thiruvananthapuram, patients are increasing in Kollam, Ernakulam and Kozhikode districts.
