THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 720 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. The number of cases through contact continues to make the major share of the cases with 528 positive cases. Sources of 34 positive cases are unknown. Of the new cases, 82 persons came from abroad while 54 persons came from other states. 17 health workers also tested positive for the viral disease on Tuesday.
The state also reported 1 COVID death on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Thiruvananthapuram Pulluvila native Victoria (72).
Meanwhile, 274 persons tested negative for the virus on Tuesday, the Chief Minister added. At present, there are 353 hotspots in the state.
