THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday posed a question to the Opposition whether it had done anything creative during Covid times. He asked this question during his routine press conference after Covid review meeting.
He alleged that the Opposition had tried to instil in expats and people from other states hatred against the government. “Along with that, the Opposition has also taken up the campaign that the government is against fisher folks. By doing all this, are they challenging the high court or the people in the State?” quipped the chief minister.
Pinarayi Vijayan said “if the Opposition breaches protocol, the danger is not only for them but for the whole state also. Without understanding that, the Opposition is playing cheap politics. The government had started preventive measures since it came to know about the gravity of the situation.
“Here, I have only one thing to ask. Was there any creative stand from your side during Covid times? Was there any contribution from your part to check the spread of the disease? On the other one could easily point out conscious attempts you made to spread the disease. Here itself, are there not people who declared that they would hold protests, even if they had to breach the Covid protocol?”
