THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: COVID-19 has claimed the lives of three more people in Kerala. The dead have been identified as Rahiyaneth (55) of Kulasekharapuram in Karunagapally, Hyrunissa (48) of Pachakkad in Kasargod and Koyotti (56) of Kallayi in Kozhikode.
Rahiyaneth collapsed and died at her house yesterday. She was later tested positive for COVID-19. She complained of breathlessness. Though she was rushed to a hospital, she died before reaching the hospital. People who came in contact with the family have been asked to go into quarantine.
With this, the death toll in Kerala has touched 47.
Hyrunissa was undergoing treatment at Pariyaram Medical College. Her source is unknown. She was confirmed of the virus two days back. She was admitted to a private hospital in Kasargod with severe pneumonia. She was tested positive in the tests conducted here. She was later shifted to Pariyaram Medical College. Hyrunissa who was in the ventilator died Wednesday morning. With this, two have died of the virus in Kasargod.
Koyotti was admitted to Kozhikode Medical College on July 20 with fever. He was confirmed of the virus in the tests conducted. Koyotti who was a diabetic and heart patient died this morning. His source of infection is not known. The health department is of the belief that he contracted the disease through contact.
