THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a deliberate attempt to destroy the evidences in the gold smuggling case and the chief secretary is behind it, said opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala. There is a planned attempt to destroy all CCTV footages of the secretariat before the inspection of the NIA. It is for this reason they said all CCTV footages have been destroyed in the lightning. Chennithala urged the NIA to take all evidences into custody at the earliest. All illegal appointments in the secretariat are through KINFRA, he said.
‘Permission was given to all temporary employees to use government emblem. Giving permission to use government emblem in letter head is violation of rules. The list of all appointed in the secretariat should be publicised. Eight people part of the secretariat are under suspicion in the gold smuggling case. The chief minister is trying to blame the opposition after their preventive measures on COVID went out of their hands. They announced a win when they started it. The chief minister is trying to divert public attention, he said.
