THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a reshuffle in the customs department at a time when the probe is progressing in the gold smuggling case. Ten probing the case have been transferred. Reports also said six superintendents and two inspectors were called back to the customs. The explanation is that the order was issued in the context of expiration of deputation.

The order in the name of Kochi customs commissioner Muhammed Yousuf mentioned that they have transferred to various units. It is hinted that the order was released without the knowledge of Kochi customs preventive commissioner Sumit Kumar, head of the investigating team.

Meantime the three including Swapna Suresh who are in the custody of NIA in the gold smuggling case will be questioned today by the customs.
