THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The NIA is interrogating M Sivasankar, former principal secretary to chief minister, in the gold smuggling case. He is questioned at the Police Club in Peroorkada. The NIA had asked him to appear at the club. The customs had earlier grilled him for over nine hours.

It was hinted earlier that he would be questioned by the NIA. He arrived at the police club unexpectedly.

The NIA team from Kochi is questioning him. The team reached the capital city at 9 am Thursday morning.

An official of the NIA reached his house in Poojappura to issue the notice asking him to appear for interrogation, in a scooter.

Sivasankar left in his car to the police club through the way behind his house.

This is for the first time a top IAS official is appearing before the NIA for interrogation.
