THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The NIA will question former IT secretary M Sivasankar in the gold smuggling case. The NIA sleuths issued a notice to Sivasankar asking to appear at the office in Kochi on Monday.
The NIA had questioned him for nearly five house on Thursday. Following this, the NIA asked him to appear for questioning again.
Sivasankar reiterated the same statement to the NIA given to the customs. He told the NIA that he does not have a role in the gold smuggling and his relationship with Swapna and Sarith are just a friendly one. He also denied the statement of Sarith that the former knew about the gold smuggling.
The NIA team is probing whether the accused met him at the office of Sivasankar before the gold was seized. The NIA will check the CCTV footages. The NIA had demanded the CCTV footages of the secretariat from July 1st to 12th. The chief secretary had informed to provide it.
