KOLLAM: A man was sentenced to life on Friday in Dubai after he was found guilty of stabbing his wife to death. The victim was C Vidhya Chandran (40), the daughter of Kollam Thirumullavaram Punnathala Anugraha resident Chandrasekharan Nair and a native of Kollam. She was working Dubai.

Her husband and Thiruvananthapuram Nemon native Yugesh (43). He will be extradited after serving the life term of 25 years. He had visited Dubai on a visiting visa and committed the crime.

The incident related to the case happened on September 9, 2019. The relationship between the two had been going through a rough patch for some time.

After reaching Dubai, he went to Vidhya’s office at Al Quoz and hugged her in front of the manager. The tussle that ensued after this discourteous act ended in murder. He stabbed with a knife which he had kept hidden in his dress. She was stabbed three times and she died on the spot.

The accused who fled the scene was later arrested by Dubai police from Jebel Ali within hours. The first witness in the case is Vidhya’s company owner and Tamil Nadu native Shubharaj.

Vidhya’s elder daughter (Plus Two) and younger daughter are staying with her mother Chandrika and father Chandrasekharan Nair.
