KOTTAYAM: In the custodial death of Nedumkandam native Rajkumar, two DySPs besides top police officers are under the CBI scanner. Former Idukki district police chief K B Venugopal had the other day sought anticipatory bail from the high court.

The allegation is that the former SP had tried to hush up the case using an officer in the special branch. The CBI may soon summon the former SP to question him in this regard.

Earlier, there were also allegations against DySPs. Former CPO of Nedumkandam station George kutty and Special Branch ASI Vanaraj engaged in a tussle the other day. After this, Georgekutty gave a police complaint, stating that the ASI had tried to kill him.

During the questioning, Georgekutty alleged that past rivalry was the reason for the tussle and the ASI had tried to dispose the case at Nedumkandam station.
