THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: COVID-19 protocol violators will have to pay fine on the spot from today. Non-compliance with containment zone regulations, curfew, mask-wearing and physical distancing rules would entail a fine of Rs 200.

Spitting in public places would invite a fine of Rs 200. Person who jump quarantine, people who organise political and social events that involve mass participation in violation of the COVID-19 prevention protocol would earn a fine of Rs 1000.

A fine of Rs 2000 would be slapped on private and public vehicles which operate in violation of government regulations. Vehicles which violate the ban on inter-state travel would invite a fine of Rs 5000.
