THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All policemen including the circle inspector and sub inspector of Kilimanoor police station have gone into quarantine after three cops tested positive for the virus. Steps are being taken for the smooth functioning of the station by appointing cops from other stations. Earlier an accused arrested in a theft case was confirmed of the virus. The policemen is likely to have contracted the disease from this person. With this, a total of 85 policemen were tested positive of the virus, said DGP Lokanath Behera. Steps to prevent more people from contracting the disease are being taken, the DGP said.

Meantime, COVID is spreading beyond the coastal clusters in the capital. More cops testing positive and health workers contracting the disease are a cause of concern.
