PATHANAMTHITTA: Two forest officials were suspended on Monday in connection with the death of farm owner Mathayi in Pathanamthitta. Mathayi was found dead in a well hours after he was ken into custody by the forest officials. It is learnt that the action was taken on the basis of primary investigation.

Meanwhile, Mathayi's family has been reluctant to bury the dead body and have been demanding the arrest of seven forest officials who were allegedly involved in the incident. Earlier, the seven officials were transferred on the basis of a report submitted by the southern region forest conservator.

Mathayi was taken into custody on Tuesday evening by seven forest officials who accused him of destroying a camera set up by the department.
