It has been four years since multi-talented actor Kalabhavan Mani bid adieu to this world. An interview, perhaps his first one, recorded during his formative years, is now doing rounds on social media.

Mani was then an artiste from Kalabhavan, an institution for learning art. The interview was taken by AVM Unni during a Gulf programme tour in 1992.

The video has come out through the YouTube channel titled AVM Unni Archives.

In the eight-minute video, he talks about his innovation in mimicry- presenting long dialogues with alliterations and the advice he has for the youth who reaches the mimicry field.

“One has to work hard for it. All feel that mimicry is very easy but it is not so…it is a very difficult art; mimicry artistes can give lots of moral lessons to society,” he says.

AVM Unni is a native of Malappuram Panthavoor. Since 1984, he has been working in the art field in Qatar. He has interviewed many artistes who have reached the Gulf.
