THIRUVANANHAPURAM: The cabinet has decided the increase the salaries and incentives of contract doctors and nurses who is engaged in Covid-related activities in the State as part of the project of National Health Mission (NHM).
According to this, health workers including Medical officer and specialist who come under Grade One will get a minimum salary of Rs 50,000.
Currently, this is 40,000 and the risk allowance is 20 pc.
The second category of health workers including Senior consultant, dental surgeon and Ayush doctors will get 20 pc risk allowance apart from the current salary.
Staff nurse, junior health inspector, pharmacist and technician will get minimum Rs 20,000 as monthly salary in the place of Rs 13,500. They will also get 25 pc risk allowance.
Last grade employees will get 30 pc risk allowance besides daily wages.
Rs 22.68 crore will be allotted additionally for paying the hiked incentives of employees.
Covid policy packages will be given to employees those who don’t come under KASP scheme as well. Rs 36.36 crore will also be allotted to hospital management committees to tide over the loss they incurred due to the epidemic.
