THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State government is exploring the possibility of a Vigilance probe into the Treasury money fraud case. The chief secretary, who is currently probing the flaws in the Treasury department, will submit the probe report to the government soon.

Meanwhile, the pro-CPI service organisation ‘Joint Council’ has demanded probe as the money fraud is being repeated in the Treasury. Currently, the Crime Branch is probing only the irregularities committed by Bijulal. And, the government is mulling Vigilance probe as wide-spread complaints are being raised against the Treasury.

However, the government will take a final decision on it only after ensuring that the Opposition doesn’t use the Vigilance probe as a weapon against them. The report submitted by the chief secretary will become decisive in government’s next step.
