KOCHI: The customs informed the court that Swapna Suresh, the accused in the gold smuggling case, leaving to Bengaluru despite restrictions and strict checking during COVID times, shows her high influence with the police and the government. She took the pass in her own name and crossed the check post as she was sure that she won’t be nabbed. She reached Bengaluru without any obstacles at a time when patients are being examined at the check posts.

The police did not nab her even after showing her own ID card in the check post. She leaving to Bengaluru along with her co-accused is evidence of conspiracy. She need not have to leave the place if she has not done anything wrong. She told the court that she left with her husband and children.
